This is a mind boggling world and this is probably why some people gamble their fate in believing psychics.
Whether psychics are true or not, it would not stop some people in seeking paranormal experts like psychics, clairvoyants, spiritual healers. And there is a reason to this, having a possible vision or peek to the future will give them possible hope and control on their own fate. See a discussion here:
