Psychic phenomena, for all of its worth, is still largely considered to be separate from formal science. A lot of scientists just cannot accept that such phenomena occurs. I do not know myself, mind you.
Some scientists, however, would like to think about psychic phenomena from a psychological viewpoint, hence scientific. It may seem irregular, but a handful of experts do believe that there is something to be learned from psychic science.
